Abe Toledo & Chaser:

Abe & Chaser Chaser 10 months Kiko

My name is Abe Toledo,  I currently reside in Jersey City, NJ  and this is my second year as a member of the UWSC. When I am not busy working as an international flight attendant for Continental Airlines, I love spending time training my white shepherd male, named ’Chase’, that I purchased from Barbara Hively of Vantasia Kennels. Even though I am not a breeder, I like keeping myself informed and knowledgeable of all things pertaining to this wonderful breed.

My love for german shepherds, and especially the white shepherds started back when I was a
young boy growing up in Chicago. My uncle Edward, who owned two shepherds,  would make it a point to bring his two dogs with him whenever he came to visit our home.

I fell in love with the white shepherd while watching, 1970’s TV Series ‘Long Street’, starring
James Franciscus and his White Shepherd, ‘Pax’. I made a promise to myself that I would get a
white shepherd someday. I finally got my first white shepherd puppy that I named Max. I
believe, he was from Old Snow Cloud lines, who grew up to be a big dog at 128 pounds. Max
was a wonderful dog, a great companion and guardian of his home and family.

KikoIt would not be until 1997 that I would get my second white shepherd. I purchased a beautiful puppy from Ronda Beaupre, who at that time, was in Indiana and I named the puppy Kiko.

Kiko was the best dog that anyone could have asked for - all who knew him would describe him as a gentle soul without a mean bone in his body. My partner and I were fortunate enough to have had Kiko in our life for good 10 years. Our beloved Kiko passed away in May 2007 and will always be in our hearts.

At some point I would love to be able to attend one of the many events offered by the UWSC.

Take care, and keep up the good work,

Abe
